Austin Energy is proposing an average 80% increase in electric rates for Houses of Worship (based on a study done by the Christian Life Commission of Texas Baptists). This large increase is not Fair to the Houses of Worship as it is many times higher than any other class is being asked to pay.
I request the the Austin City Council do the following:
Design a rate plan that will allow Houses of Worship to pay the necessary costs without disproportionately increasing their rate more than any other rate class.
Current participant count: 1,237
Thank you for supporting this effort for fairness.
